Welcome to the Human Genes and the Environment Research (HuGER) training program. Research comonents

The  grant is newly funded by the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), grant number T32- ES016652. This site is under construction so check back often for more information.


Successful applicants to the program benefit from:

Collaborations among three complementary inter-disciplinary pre-, and post-doctoral training programs:  
  • NIEHS supported inter-disciplinary training program in Toxicogenomics and Toxicology
  • NSF Interdisciplinary Graduate Education and Research Training (IGERT) Program in Evolutionary, Functional and Computational Genomics
  • Graduate Interdisciplinary Program (GIDP) in Statistics
  • A curriculum specifically created to address the unique requirements of a multi-disciplinary training program and access to training from faculty representing 10 departments and six colleges, with active research programs in:

  • Environmental and Public Health Sciences and Engineering
  • Population and Functional Genomics/Genetics
  • Computational Biology and Statistics/Bioinformatics
  • State-of-the-art facilities and a rich intellectual environment, a stipend, including all tuition and fe es, support for travel to scientific meetings, and funds towards research-related expenses, and the beautiful Tucson and Arizona environment.
